Bio

Michael McMahan, MD, joined Orlando Health in 1995 as a member of the Neonatal Intensive Care Team at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Dr. McMahan is board-certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Section.

Dr. McMahan earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed his Pediatric Residency and Neonatology Fellowship at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati followed by 2 years as a William Cooper Procter Research Scholar.

Dr. McMahan is the current Chairman of the Department of Neonatology and serves on the Medical Executive Committee for Orlando Health and the Leadership Team for the Arnold Palmer Medical Center. He is a member of the Corporate Infection Control Committee and the Pharmacotherapy Committee for Orlando Health. In addition Dr. McMahan is the Medical Director of the Delivery Room Steering Committee at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.

He enjoys teaching and is the Director for Resident Education in the NICU. His medical interests involve nutrition and respiratory support of the Neonate.
