Certified Excellence in Mother and Baby Care

Why Our Joint Commission Certification Matters

Where to have your baby is an important decision. At Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, you can count on exceptional care for you and your baby every step of the way — from prenatal care, through labor and delivery, to your baby’s first six-week checkup. Our commitment to providing you the best care possible is more than just a promise — it’s a daily practice that has earned us the first Joint Commission Certification in Perinatal Care* in Orlando.

The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body in healthcare, and we’re proud to be on the list of over 30 hospitals in the country to receive this recognition. The certification was awarded following a rigorous review of our patient-focused care including:

  • Expert teams from several specialties caring for you from your first prenatal visit through your baby’s six-week checkup
  • Early identification of high-risk pregnancies and births with state-of-the-art technology and advanced medical expertise provided by our Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine and nationally known Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Patient education and support so that each expectant mother understands all of her medical options and has the type of birth experience she wants
  • Family education and community resources to make sure mom has help throughout her entire pregnancy and return home

Whether you have a normal or high-risk pregnancy, you can relax, knowing that you and your baby will receive the best care available at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.

*The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body in healthcare. Perinatal Care Certification, established in 2015, is awarded for a two-year period to Joint Commission-accredited hospitals. Winnie Palmer Hospital holds this certification for 2017–2019.
