More than 3 million women per year experience ovarian cysts in the United States. In very rare cases, pelvic pain, bloating, and nausea may even be signs of ovarian cancer, a disease that affects almost 200,000 American women per year. Lower back pain, pelvic pain and prolonged periods may also be signs of uterine fibroids. Nearly 30% of U.S. women ages 25 to 44 show symptoms of uterine fibroids.
