Preparation for Birth

Preparation for Birth includes 45 days of access to our E-learning class titled "Understanding Birth", email access to our Maternal Education Team and an interactive, group Childbirth Education Session, held at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and facilitated by our educators.

Our E-class is an eight-chapter, interactive, web-based class that uses videos, personal birth stories, animations, activities, and games to teach all the essential information parents need to know to prepare for their birth. It will help you to:

  • Understand pregnancy - what's happening to your body, discomforts, warning signs, nutrition, exercise, and more.
  • Learn about labor - preparing for birth, pre-labor signs, onset of labor, 3D animation of labor process, and more.
  • See how the stages of labor unfold - watch amazing real-life birth stories.
  • Discover helpful comfort techniques - breathing, relaxation, massage, visualization, focal points, hydrotherapy, labor and pushing positions, advice for partners, and more.

During the Childbirth Education Session you can meet and join in on discussion with other expectant parents, ask questions and have a chance to practice comfort techniques. There is also an optional walk through of the Labor and Delivery and Mother-Baby Unit immediately following the class.

If you need to cancel your class or change the date please contact us at 321 843-2584. The fee for this class is $100.00 per couple. Please register the expectant mother only. Refunds will be issued minus a $35.00 charge as the e-class portion of the class is non-refundable.
