What to Pack for the Hospital

As you prepare for your special delivery, here is a list of items you may want to consider packing to make your stay at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies more comfortable.

For Pre-Delivery and Labor

  • Your birth plan
  • Digital devices, charges and accessories
  • Aromatherapy lotions and oils
  • Your favorite pillow
  • Baby book to record birth details
  • Socks
  • Hair accessories (band or tie)
  • Lip balm
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant)
  • Eyeglasses or contact lens case and solution

For Postpartum Stay

  • Comfortable bra/nursing bra
  • Lanolin/breast cream
  • Breast pads
  • Comfortable underwear for wearing pads
  • Nursing pillow
  • Nightgown or pajamas
  • Robe and slippers
  • Flip flops for shower
  • Comfortable clothes to wear home

Items to Have at Home

To make the transition from hospital to home easier for you and your baby, you’ll want to make sure to have a few essentials on hand.

  • Ample supply of diapers and wipes
  • App or notebook to track baby’s feeding and diapers
  • Prescriptions as ordered by care provider(s)
  • Sanitary pads (no tampons)
  • Breast pads
  • Lanolin/breast cream
  • Healthy pre-prepared meals/take-out menus
  • White noise app or machine to soothe baby
  • Pre-packed diaper bag with diapers, wipes, extra baby clothes, extra shirt for mom, diaper cream, baby blanket
