Dr. Virgil Davila is a board-certified urogynecologist and reconstructive pelvic surgeon with Orlando Health Women's Institute Center for Urogynecology. He treats patients who need minimally invasive surgery and specializes in urogynecology, with a subspecialty in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.

With 28 years of experience at Orlando Health, Dr. Davila cares for women suffering from pelvic floor disorders, including:

  • Pelvic organ prolapse (dropping of the bladder, uterus or vagina)
  • Urinary leakage
  • Bowel control problems
  • Bladder pain
  • Complex repeat repairs for recurrent incontinence and prolapse
  • Complex gynecological surgical cases
  • Symptomatic fibroids

Dr. Davila believes in being an advocate for his patients and strives to ensure they feel empowered and heard.

Dr. Davila’s Training

Dr. Davila received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Miami. After earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Dr. Davila completed his residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, where he was appointed chief of chiefs in his final year.

About Dr. Davila

Dr. Davila is certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Gynecology and in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He has earned additional certification in da Vinci Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Davila also is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, American Urological Association and International Urogynecology Association.

As a lieutenant, he served as head of the OB-GYN department at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and at the former Naval Hospital Orlando. Dr. Davila received a commendation medal for outstanding medical practice.

He teaches medical students at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.
