Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

Fellowship Programs

Program Director's Welcome

Welcome to the Critical Care Fellowship program at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC), the flagship hospital of Orlando Health. Orlando Health ORMC is an 808-bed tertiary care center and the only Level I Trauma Center serving the Central Florida region. Our program has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) since 2010.

Our Critical Care program provides critical care training to physicians from emergency medicine, internal medicine, and internal medicine subspecialty programs. Our fellowship program offers a multidisciplinary experience through our many intensive care units which has helped produce intensivists that can work in any environment. Subspeciality ICUs outside of our medical ICU include Trauma, Burn, Neurological, Cardiovascular and a Women’s ICU. We also provide several electives for fellows to explore any interests they have or to spend more time learning a particular skill set.

While our primary goal is to develop our fellows into great clinicians, we also want them to be effective communicators, patient advocates, and lifelong learners and leaders, whether that be in the ICU itself, at the hospital level, or beyond. Our fellows are treated as partners in the care of our ICU patients and often lead our ICU teams which include residents, medical students, pharmacists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, dieticians, and more.

From an educational perspective, we have a structured curriculum with several multi-disciplinary conferences, high fidelity simulation, POCUS, and opportunities for active participation in quality improvement and patient safety as well as research, to name a few.

Through this site, you will find more information regarding the Critical Care Fellowship Program here at Orlando Health ORMC. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to me at David.Bostick@OrlandoHealth.com.

Thank you for considering us to help you achieve your career goals.

Sincerely,

David S. Bostick MD MPH
Program Director
Critical Care Medicine Fellowship
Orlando Health ORMC Chair of Medicine

Thank you for your interest in our critical care medicine fellowship program. I am proud to have been a part of Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center for over 10 years. The diverse array of patients and pathology is second to none. Caring for patients with bleeding airways, oncological emergencies, ARDS, tropical disease, and mass casualties including the Pulse nightclub mass shooting, I am humbled by my experience here. Constantly, I am learning together with our fellows, residents, and faculty.

Our aim is to educate and cultivate critical care medicine physicians to be confident and competent to care for critically ill patients and their families. We create an environment of fostering lifelong learning. We are receptive to feedback from our fellows and faculty as we continue to grow. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for any further questions.

All the best,

Mai Vo, MD
