Accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Center
Why Accreditation Matters
Accredited centers have been independently reviewed and meet strict guidelines for expert care and safety, with proven success rates with lower complications. Choosing an MBSAQIP-accredited center means choosing a team that puts your health and safety first.
We are accredited as a Comprehensive Center with adolescent and obesity medicine, under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). This is a designation respected worldwide, recognizing healthcare facilities that provide safe, high-quality surgical care and quality outcomes.
The Orlando Health Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Institute is one of just two facilities in central Florida (and only three nationwide) to be recognized with all three prestigious accreditations.

Our board-certified surgeons are expertly skilled in performing minimally invasive procedures, both endoscopically and robotically, for successful long-term results. Our physicians also specialize in the revision and conversion of previous weight-loss surgeries if your procedure did not achieve lasting weight loss or led to complications. In addition to surgical options, we offer comprehensive medical weight loss treatments, including FDA-approved injectables and other medications to support your journey. We look at the whole picture when it comes to weight management. Our approach is all about seeing you as a whole person and offering personalized support, no matter where you are on your journey to better health.
In addition to board-certified surgeons, our institute team also includes specialized nurses, registered dietitians, patient-family counselors and other medical professionals with specialized training — all committed to care for and support you as you reach each milestone, and for the rest of your life.
