Official Medical Team of 2024 State Summer Games
Orlando Health was the Official Medical Team of the 2024 Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games.
As the official medical team, over 40 Orlando Health volunteers were on site providing care for approximately 1,700 athletes in the 2024 Summer Games.
Preparing the Team
To prepare Team Florida for the 2022 USA Games, Orlando Health held physicals for the athletes. Physical events were held from coast to coast across central Florida.
Rallying Community Support
Orlando Health partnered with the University of Central Florida (UCF) to provide a private practice for Team Florida athletes to prepare for the 2022 USA Games. Orlando Health also is the official medical provider for UCF Athletics.
Beyond the Games
The arrangement is part of a new multiyear partnership agreement between Orlando Health, the 2022 USA Games and Special Olympics Florida that also designates Orlando Health as the Official Central Florida Health Home for Special Olympics Florida (SOFL) athletes. In addition, Orlando Health is designated as the presenting sponsor for SOFL’s Central Florida Health and Fitness programs and Young Athletes program.
