Adult Reconstruction Fellowship

George J. Haidukewych headshot

The Adult Reconstruction Fellowship Program is a one-year program under the direction of George J. Haidukewych, MD, Pratik Desai, MD and Cody Green, MD, offering a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis, treatment, and post-operative rehabilitation of all aspects of adult reconstructive orthopedic surgery. Six fellowship trained faculty who perform over 1,500 reconstructive cases annually will provide the fellow with broad-based surgical experience.

The fellow will be exposed to a high volume of primary and complex revision hip and knee replacement surgery, infections, unicompartmental TKA, hip resurfacing, robotics, patient specific and outpatient arthroplasty. Our program provides broad-based exposure to various operative approaches for THA including direct anterior, mini posterior and anterolateral. The fellow will be required to produce one publication quality project and will have access to imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation, and research resources. An on-site library is available 24/7 as well as access to the University of Central Florida Medical School library, numerous on-line subscriptions and medical databases. The fellow will have a dedicated workspace and computer. Cadaver and simulation labs as well as guest lecturers will be incorporated into the fellow’s annual conference schedule. There will also be a monthly adult reconstructive case conference as well as monthly arthroplasty focused journal club.

We have designed goals and objectives based on the ACGME's Reconstruction Surgery Milestone Project and have established databases and research personnel in place to assist with the fellow in research endeavors.

The fellowship will run concurrently with the orthopedic surgery residency training program.
